Short answer: Odoo 19's AI features — AI Agents, AI fields, Ask AI search, Draft with Odoo AI and voice transcripts — are part of the Odoo subscription, not a separate module you buy. What you pay extra for is In-App Purchase credits: document OCR, lead generation, partner autocomplete and SMS. Document digitisation costs from EUR 0.15 per document on the 100-document pack down to EUR 0.10 on the 10,000-document pack, and one document consumes one credit. Odoo 19 also lets you connect your own ChatGPT or Gemini account, which moves model cost off Odoo's meter and onto your own.
Most articles about Odoo AI list the features and stop there. That is not the question buyers actually ask. The question is what lands on the invoice, which features are worth switching on, and which ones quietly bill you per document. This page answers those three, with figures taken from Odoo's own pricing and In-App Purchase pages rather than from a vendor deck.
What Odoo 19 actually ships
Odoo 19's release notes group AI into a dedicated section rather than scattering it through the apps. The capabilities named there include:
- Agents — AI agents that learn from documents and perform actions, including a livechat agent that can generate leads.
- AI fields — AI populates a form field, optionally using an attached file or a web search as its source.
- Ask AI search — a natural-language question is converted into an Odoo domain filter.
- AI agent database queries — internal users query their own records conversationally.
- Draft with Odoo AI — write emails, improve text, summarise a conversation.
- Server actions — update fields with AI as part of an automation.
- Voice transcript — transcribe meetings and produce summaries.
- Web page generation — build website pages from a prompt.
- Sources — ground answers in your documents, Knowledge articles, websites or PDFs.
Two entries matter more than the rest for cost: ChatGPT 5.0 is available as a provider, and you can attach your own Gemini account. That is a pricing decision disguised as a configuration option, and we come back to it below.
What is included, and what bills separately
This is where the confusion sits, and where a lot of published advice is simply wrong. The AI features above come with your Odoo plan. The credit-based services do not. Odoo's pricing page states plainly that In-App Purchase credits — "SMS, contacts auto-complete, lead generation, IA to scan vendor bills and expenses" — are not included in any subscription tier.

If you have read anywhere that Odoo's bill-scanning OCR is free with Enterprise, that is incorrect, and it is an expensive thing to get wrong when you are modelling a year of accounts-payable volume.
The numbers, in plain figures
Subscription first. Odoo sells three tiers: One App Free, Standard and Custom. On Indian pricing (odoo.com/pricing, checked 25 September 2026), Standard lists at Rs 725 per user per month billed yearly (Rs 950 monthly) and Custom at Rs 1,350 (Rs 1,690 monthly); a 12-month introductory price of Rs 580 and Rs 1,080 applies to the users on a first order. Custom is the tier that adds Odoo Studio, multi-company and external API access, and it is the one that permits on-premise and Odoo.sh deployment. Odoo's plan list now also names Agentic AI next to Studio on Custom, so confirm which AI features your plan includes before you budget.
Document digitisation credits are sold in packs:

One document consumes one credit, and the page limits are worth knowing before you budget: invoices up to 8 pages, expenses 1 page, resumes up to 8 pages, bank statements up to 30 pages. Where a document exceeds the limit, Odoo processes the first pages and the last page.
The arithmetic is straightforward and most teams have never done it. A business processing 500 vendor bills a month is 6,000 documents a year. Bought as Starter packs that is EUR 900; bought as one Advanced pack it is EUR 1,000 for 10,000 documents, which is more credits for less money per unit and leaves headroom for expenses and bank statements. Buying in the wrong pack size is the most common avoidable cost in this whole category.
The cost lever nobody writes about
Because Odoo 19 accepts your own ChatGPT or Gemini account as the AI provider, the model spend for the included AI features can sit on your own API billing rather than being mediated by Odoo. For a team running heavy drafting, summarisation and agent traffic, that changes who meters the usage and gives you direct visibility of token spend. For a team switching AI on for a handful of users, it adds an account to manage for very little gain. Decide it deliberately rather than accepting the default.
Which features to switch on, and which to skip
Not every feature in the list earns its configuration time.
- Turn on first: document digitisation, if you have real accounts-payable volume. It is the one feature with a measurable unit cost you can compare directly against the minutes of manual entry it replaces.
- Turn on early: Ask AI search and Draft with Odoo AI. Both are included, neither needs data preparation, and both are reversible if your team does not adopt them.
- Approach carefully: AI Agents grounded in your own documents. The output quality tracks the quality of the Knowledge articles and files you point them at. An agent reading a stale process document confidently produces stale answers, and that is worse than no agent.
- Skip until you have the volume: lead generation credits. Visitor identification only pays for itself above a traffic threshold most mid-market sites have not reached, and the enrichment data quality varies by region.

What implementation adds on top
Licence and credits are the visible costs. The work that decides whether any of it pays back is the unglamorous part: cleaning the vendor master so OCR matches bills to the right partner, setting field-level prompts that reflect how your team actually writes, and deciding which automations are allowed to write to records without a human step. None of that is billed by Odoo and all of it determines the outcome.
