“Configuration” is not customization
Some vendors quote a low number by limiting scope to base configuration only. Any field, view, or report change becomes a change order at $150-$200/hour.
Data migration scope creep
A flat “migration included” line usually means masters only. Historical transactions, attachments, audit trails — those are often quoted later as a change order.
Support that ends at go-live
Watch for “30-day warranty” vs structured support. Production issues at day 35 should not be a billable surprise. Get the post-launch model in writing.
