Plan / ERP buyer series
Evaluate a cosmetics ERP by tracing a finished batch back to its ingredients and forward to dispatch and returns. Test quality holds, formula revisions, packaging shortages and expiry handling. Record what is included in the proposed implementation. A batch-number field does not by itself prove complete traceability or regulatory compliance.
No purchase commitment. Submitting an enquiry does not book a meeting.

02
The operator who finishes production should not automatically stand in for the quality approver. Demonstrate the roles you intend to operate.
03
Add a held batch, rejected quantity or customer return. Ask how the stock remains visible without becoming available for normal dispatch.
Use the same requirements for every proposal. Record what is included, what needs validation and who owns unresolved work.
| Test | Required demonstration | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Input lot genealogy | Consume two lots into one production batch. | Output-to-input trace and the quantities used. |
| Formula revision | Change a controlled specification for a later batch. | Which version applies to each production record. |
| Quality hold | Block a batch and attempt a normal dispatch. | Permissions, release history and prevented movement. |
| Private-label packaging | Plan an order with a label shortage. | Available bulk, packaging requirements and shortage decision. |

A batch rarely produces a perfect theoretical quantity. Ask how the proposed setup records yield, rejected units, sampling and packaging consumption. Agree how those quantities affect inventory and costing. Finance and production should both sign off the example; otherwise one team may see a complete batch while another still corrects its value manually at month end.
Select a sample customer return and identify the original finished batch, dispatch and input lots. Ask which other deliveries would need review if an ingredient issue were discovered. Record the reports and access permissions used. This is a system evaluation exercise, not a substitute for the quality team’s validated recall procedure or regulatory advice.
Use a non-confidential formula with representative units and steps. Confirm which roles can see or change sensitive records. Ask whether import tools, exports and support access follow the same restrictions. The contract should identify data ownership and the tests that must pass before real formulas or historic production records enter the new system.
From comparison to a scoped proposal
Braincuber offers Community-based custom ERP and Odoo Enterprise implementation. We will review fit, gaps and responsibilities before proposing delivery. Bring anonymised examples—not confidential records.
No. Test the removal rule, quality status, permissions and any overrides together. One date field is not a complete release control.
Include subcontractor receipts, supplied materials and available batch evidence. If the main need is commerce operations, use the separate beauty-brand offering instead of assuming a full factory ERP is required.
Yes. Give each vendor the same sample and record standard features, configuration, custom work and unresolved gaps separately.
